Zoo wins best tourist attraction for Inland NSW

Taronga Western Plains Zoo has won the Inland NSW Tourism Award for best tourist attraction at the awards ceremony held in Moree on Saturday 27 July 2013.“This award really validates the great work the staff at the Zoo have been doing over the past 12 months,” said Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s General Manager, Matthew Fuller.“It is a great achievement as we have had some great successes over the past year and recently opening Billabong Camp, which has been well received by our visitors to date.”“The next 12 months is an exciting period for the Zoo with a number of new developments taking place which will see the Zoo continue to evolve,” said Matthew. “Winning an award like this couldn’t be possible without our wonderful animals, the community support from Dubbo and the region as well as the thousands of visitors that come to the Zoo every year,” said Matthew.  Following the win at the Inland NSW Tourism Awards, Taronga Western Plains Zoo will now contest the NSW Tourism Awards later this year.
