Zoo wins Inland NSW Tourism Award

Taronga Western Plains Zoo received Inland Tourism Awards for the best tourist attraction at the Inland Tourism Awards on Saturday 29 July 2012.The Zoo took out the best tourist attraction category in front of finalists the DAG Sheep Station and Nundle Woollen Mill. “Everyone at the Zoo is really excited about winning the award for the Inland Tourism region,” Taronga Western Plains Zoo General Manager, Matthew Fuller, said.“We’ve been making lots of changes and improvements to the Zoo over the past year and as a result have seen some great visitation numbers coming through the Zoo.” “It is great to see that what’s been achieved over the past year is really being enjoyed by visitors and it’s been recognised by the tourism industry as well,” said Matt. “I would like to encourage anyone who hasn’t yet come and seen the changes at the Zoo to take some time to visit and see what’s new and how the Zoo is continuing to evolve to ensure it is the best regional tourism destination in New South Wales,” said Matt. Taronga Western Plains Zoo will now focus its attention to the NSW Tourism Awards in the tourist attraction category.
