Birubi is one of Taronga’s young male Red Kangaroos – and he’s growing up fast! His name means “Southern Cross” in an Aboriginal language because keepers first spotted him hopping around out of his mother, Blush’s, pouch on Australia Day last year. Now almost 2 years old, Birubi weighs 26kg, but could one day reach 90kg!He’s been practicing his wrestling skills with mum, as he learns how to be an adult kangaroo.Kangaroos are most active during dawn and dusk and mostly sleep during the heat of the day.You can visit Birubi along with his mum, Blush, and friends Scarlett, Honey, Ginger and Tarnda in the Bush Friends walkthrough at Backyard to Bush.- Backyard to Bush Keeper, Bec Noad
