Australia’s best-selling author, Bryce Courtenay will be on hand at ‘Raising Rhinos,’ Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s Fundraising Ball on Saturday 7 May 2011.

The event will be held in the redeveloped Savannah Function Centre and will raise money to support the Zoo’s world-renowned Rhino conservation program, including the purchase of a digital x-ray machine.

Bryce Courtenay will speak about his African experiences including his most recent trek across Kenya and the Zoo’s Senior Veterinarian, Benn Bryant, will speak about the Zoo’s contribution to Black Rhino conservation and the ground-breaking research that is being undertaken in Dubbo.

There will be a number of silent auction items on the night as well as a live auction to be included as a character in Bryce Courtenay’s next novel.

This is a rare opportunity to rub shoulders with such a famous author.  Tickets cost $120.00 each and are available from www.taronga.org.au or the Zoo’s ticketing counter in the Savannah Visitor Plaza.
