The Galapagos Tortoise at Taronga Western Plains Zoo are enjoying new surroundings in their night house after it underwent a major transformation recently thanks to the students and teachers at the Orana Juvenile Justice Centre, Lincoln School. A mural, which spreads across three walls, was created featuring a variety of animal, bird and plant species that are native to the Galapagos Archipelago. The new mural has really brightened the exhibit giving visitors a great appreciation of what the Galapagos Tortoise habitat is like in the wild. This is the second mural the students at the Lincoln School have created for the Zoo with the first one taking pride of place at the Aussie Walkabout exhibit.
