#Taronga Zoo Sydney

Posted on 09th March 2018 by Media Relations

Lance the Aldabra Giant Tortoise is 64 years old this month, making him the oldest male animal at Taronga Zoo Sydney. The Aldabra Giant Tortoise is one of the world’s largest tortoises, and may live to more than 150 years, so we look forward to see Lance continue to grow over many years to come!

To share the occasion, Taronga Zoo Sydney is inviting guests to enjoy $1 entry on their birthday. Guests can register their details, and bring the voucher on their birthday for $1 entry.

Guests will receive a special birthday badge to wear on the day and keep as a memento. This means keeper and guest experience teams will know it’s your birthday, so be on the look out for some surprises on your day.

Taronga Zoo Sydney first offered the $1 entry ticket to celebrate its Centenary in 2016, and since then more than 78,000 people have enjoyed their special day learning about the endangered wildlife cared for in Taronga’s conservation programs.

Taronga Zoo Sydney is a non-profit wildlife conservation organisation, and every Zoo ticket, including $1 birthday entry vouchers helps to ensure a brighter future for wildlife. Every $1 donation will go towards Taronga’s wildlife conservation work to protect critical species from Australia and worldwide.

Guests can register for their $1 birthday entry voucher at Taronga.org.au/DollarBirthday.
