Need to know

  • Checking in

    Check-in is between 3:30pm and 4:30pm at Billabong Camp. Please bring a credit card and photo ID. Zoo entry is included on the day of arrival if you arrive earlier. If arriving after 4:30pm, contact the Billabong Camp Host for after-hours access.

  • Vehicle Access & Parking

    Parking is located directly outside Billabong Camp. Enter through the Zoo’s main gates and proceed to the Zoo Circuit entrance. Let staff know you are staying at Billabong Camp and they will provide directions and a map to the campsite.

  • Tent Assignment

    Each tent can accommodate up to three people. Groups of four people (or more) are allocated a campsite of two tents side-by-side. You wont have to share a campsite with anyone outside your group.

Stay overnight

Experience the wild in total comfort. Our safari-style tents offer a cozy retreat with breathtaking views. Each tent is fully equipped with a double and single bed and high-quality linen, including plush pillows, warm doonas, and electric blankets for the cooler months.  
An additional rollaway bed is available for bookings of 4 guests.  

Refresh in comfort 

Our modern, purpose-built amenities are available throughout your stay. While the bathroom facilities are shared, they offer individual, lockable cubicles to ensure total privacy. Fresh towels are provided for your stay, just pack your personal toiletries and a change of clothes. 

Fuel your Adventure

Your experience is fully catered with a delicious buffet dinner, dessert, and a gourmet breakfast to start your day. A selection of beer, wine, juices, and soft drinks are also provided to enjoy against the backdrop of the Sydney Opera House.  
 
Have specific dietary requirements? Let us know when booking, and our chefs will ensure your needs are catered for. 

Travel Light

Upon arrival, your main luggage will be whisked away and delivered directly to your tent while you begin your evening zoo tour. We recommend keeping a small "day bag" with you for essentials like your camera, phone, water and a jacket.  
We will securely store your luggage on checkout so you can continue to explore the zoo.  

Arriving at Roar and Snore

Getting to the zoo is easy. If you are driving, complimentary parking is included in the Zoo’s multi-storey car park for the duration of your stay. For those arriving via public transport, Taronga is easily accessible by bus or the iconic ferry from Circular Quay.
