Journey through six immersive zones, transporting you from the frosty sub-alpine to the scorching desert and to many other habitats in-between. Discover the incredible adaptations these reptiles and amphibians have developed to survive in challenging climates and learn how you can become a Climate Hero to help secure a future for these remarkable creatures.

Eyelash Viper
Did you know: Those “eyelashes” are actually protective scales that help break up their outline as they hide in rainforest foliage.

Basilik
Did you know: Basilisks can sprint across water for several metres before sinking, using their speed and long, powerful toes to slap the surface and escape predators in seconds.

Reticulated Python
Did you know: The reticulated python is the world’s longest snake, with some individuals growing over six metres in length.

Frilled Neck Lizard
Did you know: Their frill can span up to 30 centimetres across, making the lizard appear much larger than it really is.

Lace Monitor
Did you know: These large goannas can grow over two metres long and are just as comfortable in the trees as they are on the ground.

Alligator Snapping Turtle
Meet the Alligator Snapping Turtle, nature's ultimate stealth predator lures prey with its worm-like tongue before rapidly snapping shut.

Tuatara
Meet a real-life living fossil, the Tuatara! These ancient creatures are friends of the dinosaurs and belong to the rhynchocephalian family.

Rhinoceros iguana
Did you know: Rhinoceros iguanas get their name from the horn-like scales on their snout, which become more prominent as they age.

Corroboree Frog
Meet amazing amphibians like the iconic Corroboree Frog, one of Taronga's Legacy Species which we are saving from extinction.
