Heather Fenton

Wildlife Pathologist   

Heather started with the Australian Registry of Wildlife Health in October 2022 as Wildlife Veterinary Pathologist, where her focus pertains to wildlife diagnostics and supporting wildlife agencies. 

Heather studied veterinary pathology with the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative in Prince Edward Island, achieving American College of Veterinary Pathology diplomacy in 2014. 

She then led the wildlife diagnostic program of the South-eastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study, based at the University of Georgia conducting diagnostic services for several states. 

Heather then worked as the Wildlife Veterinarian and Chief Veterinary Officer for the Government of the Northeast Territories Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, prior to moving to St. Kitts and teaching veterinary pathology at Ross University in 2020. 

Heather has scientific research interests in emerging diseases and wildlife health surveillance, particularly data and sample management relevant to conservation programs to assist wildlife agencies maintain biodiversity.
