Lion Cub Naming Competition

Lion Cub Naming Competition

Help name one of Taronga Western Plains Zoo's Lion cubs!

Thank you to all who voted! The winners of the competition have been emailed. We are so excited to announce that Amali was a clear winner from this vote.

Taronga Western Plains Zoo has welcomed three adorable female lion cubs to mum, Marion, and Dad, Lwazi. As the cubs approach sixteen weeks of age, they need names, and we need your help to name one!

The cubs are still under the watchful eye of mum, Marion, they are growing and developing and have recently taken their first steps onto grass in their exhibit.

While it’s a big decision, our carnivore keepers have come up with six great suggestions, which pay heritage to their native homeland.

To make your choice, simply fill out the entry form below, choose from one of the six names provided and tell us why in 25 words or less why you think that name is the puuurfect fit for our latest arrival.

10 lucky people who help us choose the cub’s name will win a family pass to Taronga Western Plains Zoo valued at $145.80 to come meet the cubs in the flesh!

Competition closes Tuesday 16 August 2022 at 11:59pm (AEDT).
