All overnight guests enjoy free Zoo entry from arrival until day of departure, a delicious buffet breakfast to fuel the days, a tour of the Wildlife Retreat’s private sanctuary where you can meet some adorable native Australian animals.  

Walk in the Wild Night Walk

Ssshhh, everyone's gone home, let's go explore!! Once Taronga is closed no-one can enter the zoo...unless you are a guest of the Wildlife Retreat and are with one of our guides. Take a walk in the wild and see which animals aren't quite ready to go to bed. No tour is the same as you search and explore to see who is enjoying the cool evening air or the peace and quiet. Luckily our guides know all of Taronga's animals and have a...tail...or 2 for each and every one. If you choose to have dinner before your tour in our Me-Gal restaurant, please allow 2 hours to enjoy your evening before heading out to explore.

Have you ever wondered what our resident animals eat for breakfast? We're inviting children staying at the Retreat to become Enrichment Engineers for the morning and help our team prepare some tasty treats and tidbits for the animals. Starting at 8:15am, parents are encouraged to drop off the Engineers with our enrichment experts and return at 9:15am for an exclusive early access tour into the zoo to see who's hungry.

• Please advise of any allergies as this activity involves food handling, often peanut butter.
• An adult must accompany children from 9.15am and will need to check out at 9am before leaving

Calling all Retreat Rangers!! Embark on a journey through Taronga to find out how to support our shared future for wildlife and people. During this 2-hour scavenger hunt, Rangers will search for clues and complete challenges to work their way around the zoo, all whilst getting to see our amazing animals. Parents are encouraged to stay back and relax in the N'gurra bar as this is a kids only exclusive experience!

• All participants must bring a refillable water bottle. Complimentary Wildlife Retreat caps will be provided. 
• This activity runs during the afternoon sanctuary tours of the Wildlife Retreat, and so participants won’t be able to attend both. We advise adults can do this tour whilst the Rangers are out in the zoo.
• This activity operates Monday – Saturday during school holidays only. Your activity will be booked for the afternoon of your check in date.
