S4 E10: The Singing Error
The mating song between a White cheeked gibbon pair was a joy to hear, but when Taronga’s female gibbon, Nellie died six months ago, the male, Kayak went silent. With lots of TLC from the keepers Kayak has nearly returned to his normal boisterous self, and good news – they may have found him a new mate at Perth Zoo.
Australia’s iconic Platypus have not been sighted in the Royal National Park, near Sydney for decades but Taronga’s Conservationist, Phoebe, and other wildlife partners, have an ambitious plan to change that.
Sourcing 10 wild platypus from other rivers in NSW they will be relocated to the National Park. And Phoebe has a clever way of determining where to set their capture nets. And we join Taronga’s keepers as they seek wildlife experiences on their holidays – from giraffes in Namibia, rhinos in Africa, tigers in India, and chimps in the Congo.
Air date: Wednesday 24th of February at 7.30pm on Channel 9.
