Inland NSW Tourism Awards Hall of Fame

Taronga Western Plains Zoo is excited to announce its induction to the Inland Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, at the Inland NSW Tourism Awards ceremony held on Saturday 25 July 2015 in Broken Hill. The acknowledgement comes as a result of winning the Inland NSW Tourism Award for Best Tourist Attraction for three consecutive years, 2012-2014.

Zoo staff travelled to Broken Hill to receive the prestigious award on behalf of Taronga Western Plains Zoo. General Manager Matt Fuller says being inducted to the Inland Tourism Awards Hall of fame was a great accomplishment. “The Zoo has been honoured to win the ‘Best Tourist Attraction’ award for three consecutive years, which is an outstanding achievement in itself. To now be inducted into the Hall of Fame takes our success to a new level and I couldn’t be prouder.”

Matt attributes the success to the team of hard working Zoo staff and volunteers and of course the animals! “The team at Taronga Western Plains Zoo are extremely passionate about animal care and conservation and importantly the visitor experience; it’s this passion and drive that has lead to our successes,” said Matt.

Following the success at the Inland Tourism Awards Taronga Western Plains Zoo will again contest the NSW Tourism Awards, having won gold at the State level in 2014 in two categories – Best Tourist Attraction and Unique Accommodation.

NSW Tourism Award winners will be announced at a prestigious gala night at Darling Harbour, Sydney on 26 November 2015.
