Twiga the 18 month old female Giraffe has just completed the road trip from Perth to Dubbo to take up residency at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.Twiga is settling in well to her new home and is currently completing 30 days quarantine before she will be introduced to her new herd. She had handled the long trip well and was very glad to get out of her transport crate and walk around.Twiga has come to Dubbo to join the successful breeding program at the Zoo. Whilst she is still young, she will hopefully play an important role in the program once she reaches breeding age at around 4 – 5 years old.
