Taronga Western Plains Zoo has received a special delivery from a Zoo in Hong Kong in the form of two groups of Ring-tailed Lemurs.

One group is a family, now residing on the Savannah Lake and including a baby who is only a couple of months old. The other is a bachelor group which is now resident on the island near the White Handed Gibbons.

While the lively Lemurs are still settling in to their new home in Dubbo, they have already proved popular with school holiday visitors.

Over the coming months, the Zoo will be constructing a breeding facility onsite. This will enable the Zoo to join the regional breeding program for this species.

It is an exciting time for the Zoo and it is hoped that this breeding group will produce more offspring in the future.
