Taronga Western Plains Zoo is located in Dubbo in central west NSW. Dubbo is easily accessible by air, rail and road.

Taronga Western Plains Zoo is a five to six hour drive from Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle. There’s so much to see and do along the way that we recommend you take it nice and slow.
There are wineries, historic villages and pubs, dramatic scenery and attractions for all ages - from hot air ballooning to horse riding - depending on the route you follow.
When you arrive, we have a free car park in the free-access area, and there is parking throughout the circuit for those who drive their car around the zoo.
Getting to the Zoo from Dubbo
The Zoo is a five minute drive south of Dubbo on the Newell Highway. If you don’t have a car, one of the easiest ways to get to the Zoo from the CBD is to take the bus. The public bus service operates Monday – Saturday, starting in the CBD, then via West Dubbo to the Zoo.
