Important update

Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo will temporarily close from 5pm Wednesday 25 March 2020.

Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo continue to work with the advice provided by the NSW Health Department and the Federal Government in managing the risks associated with the current COVID-19 outbreak.

The health and safety of our guests and our staff is Taronga’s top priority and we will take all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare.

Taronga Zoo Sydney is a predominantly outdoor experience situated on 28 hectares of beautiful open harbour side land whilst Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo is a large outdoor experience situated on 300 hectares of bushland in regional NSW. Both Zoos are currently experiencing off-peak visitation with less guests on site however, we recognise the risk posed by COVID-19 at this time.

Tickets purchased to Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo will have the validity extended and honoured for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Taronga has taken steps to reinforce our best-practice health and hygiene procedures, including signage and access to hand sanitizer, increased frequency of cleaning and are working closely with all people on site on preventative measures.

Taronga has also postponed all business related international travel and has requested that all employee, volunteers, students to declare personal international travel.

A number of additional actions have been taken with immediate effect at our Zoos.
