Taronga Western Plains Zoo is located in Dubbo in Central Western NSW, and is open every day of the school holidays from 8:30am - 4pm. Explore the Zoo by two wheels, four wheels or even on foot.

Visitors can explore the 6km Zoo circuit by car, bike, electric safari cart or on foot. Bikes and electric carts can be hired at the Savannah Visitor Plaza, plus guests can bring their own bikes, drive their car, or explore the walking trails on foot.

Savannah Safari at Taronga Western Plains Zoo

Get Up Close: Savannah Safari

There are two new additions to the African Savannah - male White Rhinos Humphrey and Winston are joining the Giraffe and Antelope that call the African Savannah home. Guests can climb abord the Savannah Safari truck to experience a unique guided tour amongst this wide variety of animals, just like a real African safari.

Savannah Safari runs from 10am daily.
