Volunteers work throughout the Zoo providing information and interpretation about the Zoo and its animals to visitors. Visitor Services is suitable for those who like working with the public.
Volunteer Keepers and Food Prep Volunteers assist the keepers with general keeping duties including cleaning exhibits and food preparation. Life Sciences is suitable for people prepared for hard work, early hours, all weather and manual tasks.
Taronga wants to support teens 13-19yrs who genuinely care about wildlife, so YATZ offers them the opportunity for fun and educational experiences at the Zoo during holidays.

Education Experience Volunteers enrich the learning experience of our visiting students by assisting our Taronga Teachers. Volunteer roles are advertised as needed. Check our vacancies page for any openings.
Education Administration volunteers are also advertised throughout the year on an as needs basis.
Bush care volunteers assist horticulture staff with bush regeneration and care, mainly of native foreshore property. Suitable for those with green fingers or those who simply enjoy the great outdoors. There are currently no vacancies.
